Our origin was birthed out of a need for queer people to have a space for them to engage (or re-engage) in spiritual practice.

our why

There are many spaces where LGBTQ+ people have gathered around bars, clubs and hobbies (which are all wonderful and needed) but there are few sacred spaces for queer folks to gather and explore faith and spirituality. For most LGBTQ+ folks, religion and spirituality has been the source of great pain and trauma. For the few who are able to reconcile their faith with their identity, there is a longing to have a queer-centered space which not only includes their experiences but celebrates them as a vital part of faith development. Unfortunately, many are excluded from faith communities and forced to wander the world as spiritual exiles.

[QWM] fills me with love and reminds me that my past pain and the hate of the world toward me and my community are part of my journey but not the entirety of it. And that I am whole and complete as I am.

our purpose & mission

Queerfully & Wonderfully Made exists to spread the word that LGBTQ+ people are beloved by God, made in the image of the Divine, and are accepted just as they are. Our purpose is to hold space for LGBTQ+ people to explore faith (or lack of it) in creative ways and without judgement. We achieve this purpose by hosting pop-up events created by queer people, for queer people. We create events around themes that speak to our unique experiences.
