Create
QWM is a creative space and we believe creativity is an act of vulnerability. This is why we are active and vocal supporters of people who contribute their art and talents to our events. We use music, art, storytelling, film and many other mediums to explore and express our deepest truths.
Care
Many of the topics and themes addressed at QWM may bring up unexpected emotions and need space to process. It is our duty to offer support for those who may need some extra care. Our volunteers are a group of individuals from the local community who care for the hearts and bodies of all who attend QWM. The Hosts greet guests with a smile, answer any FAQ’s, and connect people to queer community. The Parent Squad offers “Free Mom/Dad Hugs” as well as host the after party with homemade treats. Our Care Team is made up of queer folks and allies who specialize in holding space for those who wish to process their feelings during/after the event. The Care team has volunteer pastors, mental health professionals, and others who have the capacity and knowledge to help people feel heard and loved.
Community
We are aware that pop-up events do not create long-term communities, but we can be a platform for connection. QWM partners with local LGBTQ Centers, queer organizations, businesses and affirming faith communities to offer a hub of resources at our events.
In the future, we aspire to create monthly meet-ups in key locations where queer folks can build life-giving relationships exploring faith, art, and identity in a supportive environment. Connect with us on social media (Instagram and Facebook) to keep up to date with future events and activities!
